Ten originals from the last two decades. Moody vocals and solid fingerpicking enhance the imagery of the poetry. Most of the newer songs center around longing and expectation, while the older songs include a little humor and reflection typical of blues. The oldest song is Blue to Black, a 12-bar blues written for blues jam night at the MillTown Pub in Silverton, Oregon, where the cover photo was taken. The newest song is Candle, written from the point of view of a U.S. Civil War bride in the style of a folk song from the 1960s.
